Red wine, Medalla Real Gran Reserva Cabernet // 6 x 750 ml // 14 % vol.

Description

The vinification: Hand-picked. Temperature-controlled fermentation of the destemmed grapes (95 % Cabernet Sauvignon, 5 % Cabernet Franc) in steel tanks at 25-28 °C using selected yeasts. A certain proportion undergoes further maceration, which gives the wine additional structure. It is then matured for 12-14 months in French oak casks (1/3 first, 1/3 second and 1/3 third fill).

The wine: Deep, dense ruby red shines in the glass. The nose is enchanted by very ripe fruit aromas such as redcurrant and black cherry, paired with equally intense, sweet notes of vanilla, dark chocolate and liquorice. Discreet, fresh green nuances of eucalyptus are detectable in the background. The wine has a very juicy palate and the bouquet is complemented by a hint of leather. A strong representative of its kind with a very good tannin structure and good potential!

The food: Unsurpassable with spicy, aromatic grilled and meat dishes, game, all kinds of well-matured cheeses and any festive roast.

Manufacturer

Santa Rita

The famous Chilean winery Santa Rita was founded in 1880. The main winery is still located in the Alto Jahuel (Upper Maipo) region, one of the top three wine growing regions in Chile. Today, however, winemakers Andrés Ilabaca and Cecilia Torres can draw on many different growing regions and thus different terroirs for the perfect wine, such as Casablanca Valley - a terroir for excellent white wines. Excellent reviews are the recognition that Santa Rita and her passionate winemakers have been receiving again in the world's wine magazines for years.
